The Link area is underlain by rocks of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group.

On the west side of Friendly Glacier, a series of felsic dikes cover an area approximately 100 metres by 600 metres. The majority of these dikes trend north easterly with sub-vertical dips to the east and west. They are up to 2.0 metres in width, generally fault-bounded, with strike lengths up to 60 metres. The dikes are siliceous and calcareous, with an aphanitic groundmass. In some dikes, feldspar phenocrysts are present. These dikes are hosted within calcite and chlorite altered volcaniclastics, which are commonly sheared parallel to the dike contacts. Mineralization consists of up to 10 per cent disseminated pyrite, and 2 per cent disseminated chalcopyrite with associated malachite in both the dikes and volcanics. Galena has also been noted in one strongly oxidized dike. The mineralization extends outward from the dikes for up to 70 centimetres into the volcaniclastics. Small chalcopyrite veinlets (less than 10 centimetres wide) are locally found at the margins of these dikes. Select sample 459389, across one of these dike margins assayed 9.33 grams per tonne gold and 1.18 per cent copper (Assessment Report 21061).
